Mission:
The Mission of Infant Massage WINC, World Institute for Nurturing Communication, is to foster a renaissance of each people’s ancient tradition of infant massage and to promote the Triad Model for healthy infant, child and family development by providing a positive environment coupled with nurturing touch and compassionate communication so that parents and their children may thrive and not just survive through training, education, and research.
History:
The International Association of Infant Massage, Inc. was founded in the United States in the 1970's. The purpose of the association was to recruit and train instructors for the public benefit of teaching parents and caregivers the theory, skills and techniques of parent-infant bonding through Infant Massage.
The International Association of Infant Massage (Instructors)(IAIMI®) was incorporated as 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit association California USA in 1986. The organization and its program gradually developed internationally. Infant Massage as was developed by IAIM, Inc. is now being practiced in over 30 countries worldwide. Over 20,000 Certified Infant Massage Instructors (CIMI®) have been trained in the United States.
In 2005 we rebranded to expand our scope of work to Infant Massage WINC, World Institute for Nurturing Communication.
